Our services

The inside of St Nicholas Church during worship

Every week you will find a welcoming atmosphere at our churches across the benefice. There is something for all, including family, traditional and midweek services. Please do join us!

Our services

Over the course of a month, we offer different types of services to enable you to experience different types of worship.

An example of the pattern of our services is here.

Please see below the different types of services we have in our churches.

Traditional Holy Communion - A more traditional Holy Communion Service

BCP Holy Communion - A Holy Communion service using the Book of Common Prayer

Morning Worship - A worship service with no Holy Communion

Contemporary Holy Communion - An informal Communion service more inclusive of children

All Age Holy Communion- A communion service aimed at children, families and the young at heart!

Evensong - A Book Of Common Prayer evening service with sung canticles

Benefice Service - Our congregations join together for Holy Communion in one of our four buildings

Sunday @7 - A cafe-style informal service with songs, discussion and prayers

Receiving the sacrament during Holy Communion

The consecrated wafer (bread) is offered into the hand. There is the option of also receiving wine from the common cup or having the priest intinct (dip) your wafer into a separate chalice. If you wish to receive an intincted wafer you should collect an orange card from the dish as you come up for communion to indicate this is your preference.

Compline (Night Prayer) online

Compline takes place every live via Zoom every
Wednesday evening at 7.00pm https://us02web.zoom.us/j/86707839332

All welcome. This is a short service (c. 15 minutes). You are welcome to leave as soon as the service is over or stay for a chat. We are currently using this Order of Service for Compline.
