About Us

We are a Church of England Parish proclaiming God's love in the heart of the community. We seek to be a friendly, family church which offers a warm welcome to all. Our style of worship is mainly modern catholic, with the Eucharist at the centre of our church life, though we also offer more informal services.

We seek to:

• proclaim God’s love
• welcome all people
• teach, baptise and nurture
• respond to human need with loving service
• rejoice through the beauty of Word, Sacrament and music

Use these pages to find out more about who we are as a congregation, who is in leadership and our Sunday and mid-week services. You can also discover more about the Benefice of Rural East York, of which we are are part. There is also information on the history of St Nicholas and our beautiful and historic building.

For information on groups and activities for children, youth and adults, see our Get involved pages.

You can also pick up a copy of our monthly magazine "The Grapevine", available for 50p from the Tower Room at St Nicholas. The Grapevine features news and events from around the benefice as well as details of local businesses. To have The Grapevine delivered to your door every month, please contact Barry Hewitt.

Electoral Roll  - St. Nicholas

The church’s electoral roll is the register of its voting members. Enrolment is a way of saying “I belong”. It is an act of commitment to your church and tells us that you want to be involved in the life of our parish church—by your attendance, the use of your gifts and by your financial support. If you would like to add your name to the roll, please complete an application form (available in church).
