A prayer from the Methodist Circuit this week

God of justice and mercy,
We pray for all involved in our criminal justice system.
We pray for wisdom and fairness in all those who made decisions on guilt and sentencing.
We pray for prisoners and their families, especially for young people,
We recognise that the pandemic has made life especially difficult for prisoners and their families,
We pray for your transforming touch on all who have committed crimes.
We give thanks for the work of prison chaplains, and ask for strength and protection for them.
We pray for all victims of crime, and pray for your healing power for them.
We thank you Lord that no one is too broken, too guilty, too forgotten for you to forgive if repentance is genuine
And that in the end your justice will prevail.
