Covid-19 info and support

These pages aim to provide up to date information on the local situation as regards the Covid-19 pandemic.

The church building is now closed

As of Tuesday 24 March the church is closed, following Goverment's new national emergency regulations which include the complete closure of places of worship for at least the next three weeks.

Holy Week & Easter

Even without all the usual services, ceremonies and rituals, Christ Is Risen! On that first Easter morning, while it was still dark, Mary Magdalene went to the tomb. She was sad and alone, and probably felt utterly lost and not knowing what to do. We too can feel like that, especially at the moment, but the reality and joy of Jesus's resurrection are as real for us now as they were for her when Jesus came to meet her. Find readings, prayers and recorded messages and services to help you through the pain of Holy Week and the Joy of Easter Sunday on our Easter 2020 pages

Other Resources

We have created, and continue to add to, a set of resources for worship which you can use at home, including the orders of service for Morning and Evening Prayer. The church now has its own St Nicholas Dunnington YouTube channel, where you can access recordings of services and messages by Revd Nick Bird. We are still producing a weekly newsletter, which can be accessed from the News pages, and we now have the first issue of a Children's Newsletter to offer you!

Dunnington Community Support Group

This newly created group has recruited a network of people in the village who can offer support to their neighbours. If you need support, or could help, please read more about the Community Support Group

Listen out for the church bells

If you live in Dunnington and you hear the ‘Angelus’ (the church bells ringing three sets of three ‘dongs’) then know that your parish priest, Revd Nick Bird, is in your church praying for you and for our community. Do join in wherever you are. And all around the village, the country and the world, know that there are faithful people praying at this time.
